1. The verb be as a main verb in the Simple Present

1.1. Affirmative sentences

Long forms Contracted forms
am from London. I‘m from London.
You are in my team. You‘re in my team.
He is my brother. He‘s my brother.
She is 15. She‘s 15.
It is blue. It‘s blue.
We are hungry. We’re hungry.
You are in my team. You‘re in my team.
They are nice. You‘re nice.

1.2. Negative sentences

Long forms Contracted forms
am not from London. I‘m not from London.
You are not in my team. You‘re not in my team.
You aren’t in my team.
He is not my brother. He‘s not my brother.
